Notice any discolored spots on your feet?

If you notice any dark, discolored spots or lesions on your feet, especially if you notice changes in size or appearance, it is best to have them examined by Dr. Babol. It is not normal to have spots and discolorations on your feet. It may be skin cancer (melanoma), and it may spread to other areas of the body as it grows beneath the surface of the skin. Melanoma strikes people of all age groups, even the young. The majority of all cases of melanoma are caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun or tanning beds. If you have discoloration under your toenail(s) (unrelated to trauma), be sure to visit us as soon as possible. The sooner you have it checked out, the more beneficial it will be for your health!
